Porto Moniz is a municipality at the northwest tip of Madeira with four civil parishes: Porto Moniz, Seixal, Ribeira da Janela and Achadas da Cruz. It is one of the least populated municipalities on the island, known for its natural volcanic rock pools. Its settlements occupy narrow shelves between high cliffs and the sea.
